Is a film by Freya Billington about Finetown townships’s self-proclaimed visionary, Lucky Ndlovu.

The film follows Finetown resident Lucky Ndlovu, who set up drama group  R.E.L.A.Y. (Real Entertainment Lived by Artistic Youth) as a 12 year old. He sees himself as a chosen one, born to help others reveal their ‘little lights’ but who struggles with his own darkness.Whilst days are spent physically walking round and round the same dusty tracks, his mind is soaring with possibilities.

In June 201 Freya completed Documentary HOW? LUCKY (2016) which she filmed in Finetown Township, Gauteng Province, South Africa over the last four years. Freya met Lucky Ndlovu when she was working with C.A.S.T. (The Creative Arts School Trust) in Finetown teaching filmmaking to kids in the community. It transpired he had set up and run RELAY (Real Entertainment Lived by Artistic Youth) a drama group in the township when he was 12 years old, using education as a means of engaging his fellow youth and she felt compelled to make a film about him.

In July 2016, Freya went out to screen the film and lead a discussion  in the township’s multipurpose building with Lucky. The film’s official World Premiere was last week at RapidLion: South African International Film Festival, attended by Lucky and other featured cast, and screens later this month at Charlotte Black Film Festival, SC USA.
